A historical walk around Richmond

The Richmond Tigerland Walk takes in many locations that have significance to the Richmond Football Club and also a couple of interesting historical sites.

Getting there…

  • Car
There are parking restrictions in the streets of Richmond. If you combine the walk with a visit to the Richmond Museum at the Punt Road Oval or with a game at the MCG, you can leave your car in the Yarra Park car park.
  • Train
You can take the train to Richmond, Jolimont or West Richmond stations.
  • Tram
Alternatively, take the #48 or #75 tram from the city, via Flinders Street and Wellington Parade, to Bridge Road or the #70 tram via Olympic Boulevard to Swan Street.

The Richmond Tigerland Walk

Allow two hours to complete the walk of approximately five kilometres, although you may decide to take longer. Have a coffee in one of the many cafes on Swan Street and Bridge Road or have a counter meal at the Vaucluse or London Tavern hotels.

You can start the walk at any point you like.
